Sicilian ancient grain pasta

Bronze-drawn artisan shapes, from the grains of Sicilian tradition.

Ancient grains and bronze drawing

Our pasta is made from organically grown Sicilian ancient grains, traditional varieties cultivated on the island for generations. It has an intense wheat aroma and a full flavour, unlike industrial pasta.

Bronze drawing gives a rough surface that holds the sauce. Besides spaghetti, fusilli and penne rigate you will find busiata, the typical shape of Trapani, perfect with pesto alla trapanese or a tomato sauce.

Frequently asked questions: Pasta

What does bronze-drawn mean?+

The pasta is pushed through bronze dies that make it rough and porous. The sauce clings better and every forkful is tastier.

What are Sicilian ancient grains?+

They are traditional wheat varieties grown in Sicily for centuries, such as Timilia and Russello. They give flours and pasta a richer, more aromatic taste.

How do you serve busiata?+

The classic is pesto alla trapanese, with tomato, almonds and basil. It is also excellent with seafood sauces or with wild fennel pesto.
